An angle seat valve is an automated, pneumatically or hydraulically actuated valve used to control the flow of liquids, gases, and steam. It features an internal valve seat positioned at an angle (usually around 45 degrees) to the flow path, which allows the sealing plug to retract further out of the way than in standard globe valves.
2. How It Works?
Angle seat valves are typically configured in one of three ways:
1. Normally Closed (Fail Closed): The valve remains shut until compressed air is applied, which lifts the plug and allows media to flow. When air is released, an internal spring forces the plug back down to stop the flow.
2. Normally Open (Fail Open): The valve stays open until air pressure is applied to force it shut.
3. Double Acting: Uses air pressure on both sides of the actuator to actively force the valve into both the open and closed positions without relying on a return spring.
