1. Brief Introduction of Products:

A welding male is a key, threaded component of a sanitary screwed union fitting used in hygienic piping systems. Designed to be permanently welded onto a stainless steel tube, it works together with a welding liner, a gasket, and a round nut to form a clean, leak-proof seal. 

2. Key Components of a Sanitary Union: 

A complete union assembly relies on four primary parts:

(1). Welding Male: The threaded half of the coupling that is butt-welded to the process piping. It features external threads.

(2). Welding Liner (or Female Part): A flared or flanged piece that slips into the welding male, acting as a seat for the gasket.

(3). Gasket: Sits between the liner and the male face to ensure a sterile, crevice-free seal that prevents product buildup.

(4). Round Nut (Slotted or Hexagon): Slides over the welding liner and screws onto the welding male, pulling all the pieces together to compress the gasket. 

3. Common Sanitary Union Standards: 

Welding males (and their corresponding union sets) are manufactured to meet strict hygienic regulations (Ra ≤ 0.8μm interior polish) for the food, dairy, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries:

• DIN 11851: A widely used European standard, especially common in the UK and US. The males feature metric-sized threads.

• SMS 1145: Swedish Manufacturing Standard, very common in food and dairy applications.

• 3A Standard: Designed in accordance with US 3A sanitary standards, typically without an O-ring (metal-to-metal seal).

• RJT & IDF / ISO Unions: Commonly used in specific regional processing plants, ensuring clean, crevice-free fluid transfer.
