Tri-clamp concentric reducers are sanitary fittings used to transition between different pipe sizes in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical processes, featuring a conical shape that connects the centerline of both pipes. They are primarily used in vertical piping, pump discharges, and high-purity applications to facilitate smooth flow and reduce agitation. Due to their cone shape, tri-clamp concentric reducers aren't suited for all your production line reduction needs. Tri-clamp concentric reducers are best used in the following positions in your homebrew system:

1. Vertical flow applications for those multi-tiered setups
2. Horizontally as an increaser, going from smaller to larger equipment, as pooling may result if concentric reducers are used to actually reduce in a horizontal position

3. Key Applications and Use Cases:

• Vertical Pipe Systems: Best suited for vertical flow applications, as the conical shape allows for even, consistent reduction.

• Horizontal Increaser: When used horizontally, it is best applied as an increaser (connecting a smaller pipe to a larger one) rather than a reducer, to prevent fluid from pooling in the bottom of the fitting.
