1. Brief Introduction of Products:

A sanitary union type check valve is a specialized one-way (non-return) valve used in hygienic piping systems. Its built-in union fittings allow the valve to be quickly disconnected and removed for cleaning without having to cut, un-thread, or dismantle the surrounding pipeline. 

2. Why the "Union" Design?

In standard piping, removing a valve often requires dismantling large sections of the pipe. The union design features a multi-piece body connected by heavy-duty threaded nuts. By unfastening these nuts, the center core (the check valve itself) easily drops out for cleaning, gasket replacement, or maintenance. 

3. How It Works?

• One-Way Flow: The valve opens automatically when the upstream fluid pressure exceeds the closing force of the valve's internal mechanism. [1, 2]

• Backflow Prevention: When the flow stops or attempts to reverse, gravity and the internal spring (or ball) force the seal closed instantly, blocking backward movement. 

• Internal Mechanism: The internal check component typically consists of either a spring-loaded disk (fast-acting, great for preventing water hammer) or a free-floating ball.
