2. Structure and Operation
A 3 way diaphragm valve is special because of its design. It has three ports, not just two. This lets it control fluid in more ways. The main part of the valve has a weir. The weir helps guide where the fluid goes. A soft diaphragm sits above the weir. The diaphragm keeps the fluid away from moving parts. The compressor pushes the diaphragm down. This blocks or lets fluid flow. The bonnet and handwheel hold the diaphragm in place. They let people change the valve by hand.
3. What Is a 3 Way Diaphragm Valve?
At its core, a 3 way diaphragm valve is like a T junction controlled by a flexible diaphragm. Compared to a standard 2 way (on/off) diaphragm valve, the 3 way variant has three ports arranged in either:

L port (sampling/diverting/U body): Directs flow from one port to either of two others without mixing.
